Jon Mosby / KF6RFQ has renewed his EC appointment. Jon writes, “I have conducted multiple training sessions both in general communication, CERT communications, beginner ham sessions, and other topics like message handling and Net Control operations. I have kept updating the local ham rosters, activation procedures and instructions, and fixed emergency station assignments for the three areas and have added one additional area in the County of San Mateo, North Fair Oaks (NFO). This County area borders Menlo Park and Atherton. What I have been working on for the past few years is having each city/area assigned its own EC.”

Shakeout Day / October 15 was a resounding success ! Jay King / W2AFE writes: “The American Red Cross Bay Area Radio Group hosted a simplex net in support of International Shakeout Day (shakeout.org). Net Control was situated in the hills west of Fremont with a good view of the Bay Area. There were a total of 26 check-ins. Thanks to all for your participation and especially to WB6WGM for relaying numerous locations from the Oakland area.” Information on Shakeout Day is here: https://www.shakeout.org/
