Students at Mountain View Elementary School in Marietta, Georgia, held an amateur radio contact with the International Space Station (ISS) in the afternoon on April 18, 2024. More than 800 students experienced the contact with the help of the Cherokee Amateur Radio Society (an ARRL Affiliated Club) and the North Fulton Amateur Radio League. The Cobb County Public Library System, bluShift Aerospace, and the Cobb Electric Membership Corporation provide lending support. This was a direct contact via amateur radio, and it allowed students to ask questions of National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) astronaut Jeanette Epps, KF5QNU.
